Innerhytta
360°-Panoramas from Adventdalen: midnight sun, polar night, red light
Most people in Longyearbyen know the hut “Innerhytta”, situated on a large Pingo in Adventdalen.

The first two panoramas were taken in early May, early in the period of the midnight sun.

An impression taken near mid January, during the polar night.

Finally, a panoramic view of red light, a very rare light phenomenon caused by scattering from very small ice crystals in the upper atmosphere (‘Rayleigh scattering’). The result is this very intense reddish light that really looks like this panoramic view. That’s what I think it looks like on Mars, crazy! The panorama was taken on 23 January 2025.
